Vintage buttons

Well I might not have had internet this week but that just meant more crafting time..
Monday night was my first proper beading class, I was so excited and couldn't wait to see what we were going to make. Well I wasn't disappointed and after two hours in class and another couple at home the result is ........................
I didn't have a larger chrystal to use for the catch so I used a vintage silver, pearl and chrystal button instead ..

I then made a simple adapted version with slate grey chrystals and seed beads

Was quiet impressed so made another with bigger chrystals and seeds..

I've also made two more but they're upstairs and CBA to go and photo them. Anyway I think I'm hooked and can't wait for tomorrow for the next lesson!!

But that's not all I've been up to this week. For a while I've been working on a design for a cross body bag. I can't take all the credit as it's just a combination of two bags I saw in JL before christmas, but I finally worked out how best to do it and drew up all the pattern pieces.
And this is the result........

I have to say I LOVE IT especially as I was able to use some lovely cream bakerlite buttons that I'd been given by one of the lovely ladies at stitch and bitch.

I have already cut out three more bags ready for sewing when I get back from my little trip. The only change I'm making is to make the strap adjustable, other than that it's perfect.
Am also working on two more bag designs at the moment but more about that later.
Well my week turned out quiet good so how was yours?
