Haloween Hangover

Had to get up as was feeling slightly ruff after last nights haloween party, must have been the woowoos? Thought as I was up I'd just lie on the sofa and catch up on whats happening in blogland whilst I watched last night merlin. Well it's nearly finished and I've just realised that of course the clocks went back so in fact I got up at 5 not 6 oclock grr.
Well the black coffee and asprin aren't having much affect on my head Any ideas??

Etsy

Well now the internet is working I thought I'd better get the stuff I'd finished listed asap before it crashes again! I love etsy but have to say it takes AGES to list stuff. G was waiting for me to finish as he wanted on the internet after lunch but has now given up and is "watching" thunderball with daisy on the sofa (one of them is snoring and I'm not convinced it's daisy!).
So anyway back to etsy, I set it up to sell months ago but never got round to listing anything as I normally sold stuff before I had a chance, but as I'm now ploughing through the WIP and christmas is coming, thought it might help me subsidise my income lol as if I have one at the mo!!
So pop over and have a look I've only listed doggie stuff at the mo as I've run out of energy but will top it up hopefully everyday with new makes not all doggie.

Now I guess I'd better go and start making myself look ugly for tonight LMAO not that it'll take much. Have a good weekend and happy haloween??

---x---

Add on ... Justine over at Emma Bear forever asked me if I had a tutorial for the tissue cases, well I used  one from Karen at blonde design it was so easy it's criminal not to make them

Heres one I made earlier!

Have now recovered from yesterdays expedition and unpacked my bag of goodies. I won't bore you with all my buys but here are my highlights
A little pair of pink snips to get into all those tight spaces, a snip at £1
Couldn't resist these little cow bells they are already corded as phone charms but at 50p ea I just had to have

I've signed up for a beading class that starts in a couple of weeks and loved these blues and purple (camera didn't do them justice). Big bag size 8 seed beads £1.50 and the string of 4mm chrystals £1.25

Oh buttons, I love buttons and these are gorgeous. They had hundreds of different ones and I could have spent a fortune but resisted and just bought the six (3 for £1)

Then of course the little white dog die cuts, now us westie owners know that this is actually the shape of a scottie not a westie but I'll let them off..

You know what it's like at these fairs it's so easy to spend a fortune, and in the past it's not unknown for me to come home with more bags than I can carry and a credit card debt that'll take months to clear. So I was quite pleased as I spent less than £50 on "stuff" and that inc my ticket and lunch!!

Today has been another wet and windy one so haven't done much but did do more felt stuff. Made a couple of little lavender hearts with felt, buttons, velvet ribbon and some scraps of cath kidston

But I'd better go now as daisy is making more mess than a 2yr old

Sorry was working on this last night when my internet crashed grrrrrrrrrrrr but it seems to be okay now so here we go

Tired

Well first things first, promised photos..
recognise some of those felt hearts!!

Doggie coats, now I don't know what blogger has against my doggie coats cos everytime I post photos of them blogger rotates it!!

A dozen tissue cases(inc tissues)

And a little bag that I made ages ago but never got round to finishing (think I might inc in giveaway?)

Anyway enough of what I did yesterday, today I went to the Hobbycraft show at the SECC. Actually it was okay, well it must of been cos I was there for 5hrs!! Did a little bit of retail therapy after all it has to be done, but nothing spectacular and am now completely shattered. Will tell you what I bought tomorrow when my head doesn't ache quite so much. But for now it's feet up in front of the telly and chill..
After I've cooked tea of course....

Working on the WIP

I have actualy had quite a productive day today. I decided as it was so horrible outside that I'd stay in and tackle the WIP.
  1. Well I managed to finish a bag (all it needed was the handles attaching but you know what it's like)
  2. Then I finished 5 doggie coats (all they needed was the straps and velcro attaching!) ready to put on etsy
  3. Cut out the fleece to line 4 more doggie coats (more for etsy)
  4. Finished sewing 12 tissue cases for stocking fillers etc.
  5. Started doing sometrhing with those felt hearts I cut out the other day.
Normally I would add loads of photos to show what I've done but as today was so grey, by the time I stopped the light was awful for taking pics but will add tommorrow.
Tonight Daisy went to see George (our normal vet), he has a soft spot for her as he was the one who diagnosed her PDA (heart defect) when she was only 8wks old. He says her paw is coming on slowly although it will be weeks ,maybe even months before she's back to normal. Daisy was very relieved with the news as she's missing the beach. I told her she'd have to stop lounging on the sofa stealing my bickies!!

Anyway I didn't just craft today and whilst surfing today I found these wallpapers
Dressing up wallpaper

Kissing Birds Wallpaper
They are both from famille summerbelle and are made to order in the UK
They also have some very unusual maps but can't take the credit for finding them as Kirsty over at You had me at Bonjour put me onto them.

Oh well better go the dog wants out, the cat wants in and I want chocolate!! Pity we can't always have what we want....

Out / In

It is very grey and cold and windy outside my window

I think I'll stay inside!

Rainbow

This morning in the post I received a rainbow! A rainbow of fat qtrs

Daisy wasn't impressed as she thought the parcel was for her

So luckily out of my shopping bag I pulled a pig (please note this is the 3rd pig she's had as she keeps breaking the honk!!) anyway she's now much happier..

She is begining to put her poorly paw down a little now so hopefully she's on the mend.
While she's having a nap with longed for pig I'm going to try and sneak up to my craft room and do some stuff as the list of WIP is getting longer and I also have a giveaway to prepare for!!

Another Accident!!

I'm sorry I haven't blogged for a while. Unfortunately last week we had an accident, not me for a change but my darling Daisy. We were on the beach with my Mum and Dad and their lovely little dog tess, everyone was having a ball when Daisy took a tumble. At first we thought it was her knee joint as it has a tendancy to pop, but she cried and cried (me too). So a trip to the vet was called for, her paw was all swollen and they hope that shes pulled a tendon or something, they don't think it's broken but didn't want to x ray it unless really neccesary as she would need to be sedated. So we decided to leave it a few days and see if she improves before subjecting her to that.
So she has been feeling a bit sorry for herself..
However today she seems alot brighter and is back to watching out the window even if I do have to keep lifting her up onto her stool.
She is hopping around on three legs and I'm amazed at how fast she can go!
Hopefully normal service will resume soon..

Icecream and lavender

Yesterday my Mum and Dad arrived along with their pretty little dog Tess. I don't see anywhere near as much of them as I'd like partly because we live 350 miles apart but mostly because they bought a caravan 3 years ago and since then are NEVER AT HOME! Sorry didn't mean to shout!
But anyway they are here for a few days which is lovely especially as today is my Dads 74th birthday. To celebrate we went out to Nardinis for lunch, well actually fish and chip and icecream, no make that the best fish and chips and Icecream.
See not any old icecreams! I have to own up this is actually the pic I took last time we went as I seem to have camera probs today but beleive me the only diff today... my dad wasn't wearing a pink jumper!!

When I got home I had a lovely surprise from Kandi, she won one of my mystery prizes on my giveaway a couple of weeks ago and sent me a lovely lavender bag to say thank you. Kandi that was really naughty as I told you not too but thank you so much its lovely. Now must go and lie down for abit as I've eaten far too much!!!

It's a bunting light !?

Am once again up to my eyes in housework ready for more visitor tomorrow. This time it's my parents and as I haven't seen them for a few month it's not such a chore and I'm actually looking forward to it. Anyway as I've stopped for a cuppa (and the last slice of birthday cake) I thought I'd catch up on some blogs.
I love looking at blogs especially those of people who craft as it's always facinating to see what other people are doing. Today somehow I came across this lady Kirsty her blog is called You had me at bonjour.
What attracted my attention was this incredible lampshade

And she even tells you exactly how she made it!
Browsing through her older posts I found she's a very talented quilter so well worth a look.
Oh well better get back to my duster as Strictly starts in about 45 mins and tonight it's the quickstep and the rumba!! This is from a woman who has trouble cotrolling her feet when she walks, so when dancing I'm a complete liability...

Yeah pressies

Don't you just love it when you get parcels in the post, even if you know what's in it. Today I received a parcel from Amanda over at Amanda Makes. She'd told me yesterday that she'd put my PIF in the post, gosh it was like my birthday two days on the trot.
All wrapped in gold tissue and red velvet ribbon (sorry photo has rotated itself?)

And look whats inside

One of Amanda gorgeous mermaids which is now sat on a shelf in my craft room where I can gaze at it for inspiration. Also a lovely piece of fabric with little carousel horses on it, I think it's linen and I absolutely love it (Amanda must have remembered my love of horses) I now have to decide what to make from it as it'll have to be something very special.

Anyway have had abit of a cutting session

now all I have to do is sew them together.
Oh and another little project, yesterday I was browsing the charity shops whilst Daisy was being pampered and I came across a really pretty red crochet top, it's redder than in the pics

Love all the detail and I'm sure I could make it into a lovely cushion so I'll add it to the TO DO list.

Have a lovely weekend everyone

Todays the day

When I came downstairs this morning I had a surprise..

who forgets their own birthday? eh Me!
I think it was because G had already bought me my Cricut which I got a few weeks ago so I really wasn't expecting anything, but this is what I got from my lovely Daisy and Fudge

Lovely Robbie, Twilight dvd and loads of Green and Black yum yum

I rewarded Daisy for her excellent choice in presents by taking her to visit Melissa (her groomer). Daisy always gets so excited when she works out where we are going, she loves Melissa and melissas dogs one of whom also happens to be a Daisy.. Well now she's all clean again and smells just like a baby..

G then took me out for lunch before he went to work and I now have the whole evening to myself to do what I like.....craft maybe?

A joyous day

Firstly can I just say a big thank you to all you lovely ladies who left me such nice messages of sympathy yesterday after my little slip up.
I am feeling much better today, infact my arm hasn't felt this good for a while!! I still seem to have excess kneecaps but then I don't need my leg to craft.

To celebrate my recovery I spent a lovely afternoon cutting and sewing although I can't say what as it's a swap!! Just stuck my leg up ontop of one of my fabric bins and it was fine.

What now? Oooh think I'll treat myself to some of Morrisons magical Thai Chicken soup that really does cure all.

Whats on telly tonight Daisy??

Beware seaweed hurts!!

Woke up this morning full of joy, today the MIL was going home, G will be back at work tomorrow, my arm was starting to feel better and at last I'll be able to get on with some crafting.
I sprung out of bed, got showered and onced I'd persuaded Daisy that 9.30 was a perfectly resonable time for a small dog to get up, set off down the beach. The tide was out, the sun was shining, what more could I ask for??
Well I know what I didn't and that was the seaweed covered rocks, I only really noticed them as I was flying through the air before landing in a large rock pool. Was I wet oooh yes from head to toe, did I hurt myself? well I now have some very interesting bumps under my left knee, abit like having extra kneecaps? But what I really hurt was my elbow, think I hit the funny bone as I landed which wasn't funny!!
So then had to walk Daisy all soaking wet and drive home all soaking wet (my car now doesn't just look like a beach with the permenant 2inchs of sand it also smells like one).
But mustn't grumble the MIL has gone home and G will be back to work in approx 12hours and then I'm going to CRAFT!!!

A blog award !!

Don't believe it I've been passed a versatile blog award by Annie ! So the rules for the award are that you should link to the person who awarded to me and share 7 interesting facts about myself ! Mmmm thats hard??
Okay lets start
1.I got married at 18 to my first husband, and by first I don't mean best!! That lasted about 13yrs and we had 3 wonderful children. We he finally left I had a few ???? and then met G through a personal ad in the paper (before internet dating). We've been together nearly 16yrs now although have never done the deed (got wed)
G at our sons wedding last year..
2.In my previous married life I kept and bred haflinger horses. Unfortunately when the ex husband left the horses had to as well as I couldn't afford to keep them all. It broke my heart to part with them as most had either been bred by me or I'd bought them as foals. Such beautiful animals
I feel quiet sad thinking about them now..
3.Anyway onto the next thing I admit it I love the tv and could not survive without my sky plus. I'm afraid I hate soaps, G is addicted to Emmerdale but I'm quiet happy when his shifts mean he's not home in the evenings so I don't have to watch it. My favourite channels would be Scifi, Fx and Sky One. Love Regenisis, Fringe, Supernatural, A town called Eureka, Spooks, House, NCIS and am looking forward to the new Scifi prog " Haven" that starts tomorrow.
He looks worth a watch!!
4.In case anyone doesn't know it I adore my little westie Daisy. It took me 14yrs to persuade G to let me have a dog as I'd always had dogs previously but he wasn't a dog person. Anyway once I got her it didn't take long for G to fall under her spell and he's now equally besotted with her. I think she's extra special as when we'd had her only two weeks we took her down to the vets for her jabs and found out she'd got a level 6 heart defect ( a PDA). Resulting in her having to undergo major surgery at only 12wks old weighing just 1.1kg.
Daisys first day in her new home

Daisy home from intensive care
Thankfully the operation was a success and she should be with us for many years to come..
5. Gosh this is getting hard, what next oh yes I love the sea. We are so lucky living were we do as I can see the sea out of all the front windows. Me and Daisy love our morning walks on the beach, watching the seals basking on the rocks out in the water. It's so peaceful down there and the views of Arran, Ailsa Craig and both Cumbraes make it worthwhile.
bliss..
6. Oh yes I have a castle at the bottom of my garden!! How many people can say that. In fact it's one of the things that sold us sorry me on this house. Ten years ago I moved from living in a castle not far from here to the midlands as G had been offered his dream job. So when his job bought him back up here it seemed like fate when I found this house.

Law Castle West Kilbride
7. Okay final thing as I've sort of mentioned it above, I used to live in a castle in fact this castle
This is Culzean Castle and it belongs to the NTS. I worked for the trust for 4 yrs and for the last 2.5yrs I was the Deputy General Manager at Culzean. which meant that I got to live here rent free as part of my job. Great hey...
Gosh I'm exhausted after all that and now I have to pass the award on so I'd like to pass it to two people
Emma Kate over at Land of Emma
Amy over at Blighty Boutique
I think I now need a lie down to recover.
Will draw the giveaway later tonight
Goodluck

Blitzing

Today I have been busy preparing for G's mums arrival. I'm not picking her up till Thursday but thought I'd better not leave the "mother in law blitz" to the last minute. So have been washing and cleaning and polishing and ironing oh and dusting!! But in amongst it all I did happen to do these

It is official I have become addicted to card making, but as thats all i'm allowed to do at the mo I suppose I shouldn't be surprised.
I did however rustle up this little brooch whilst G was out walking Daisy the other day (naughty me)..
Not bad for a first attempt..
Oh well I'd better get back to the blitzing, no speck of dust is safe..
